Comic Relief is one of the UK’s best loved brands and organiser of two of the country’s largest fundraising campaigns in Red Nose Day and Sport Relief. We are now looking for a suitably qualified and experienced lawyer to be our Head of Legal to ensure our charitable, commercial, corporate activities and best interests are protected.

Reporting to the Business Director you will provide legal advice and support to trustees, directors and staff on all matters relating to Comic Relief and our trading subsidiaries. This will include advising on all legal risks across our operations including contract, intellectual property, media, data protection, marketing, advertising, charity and corporate laws. You will help negotiate and draft commercial contracts, provide guidance on funding and grant-making arrangements, support senior management in governance issues and much more. We will look to you for assistance on a range of issues but important will be your ability to protect our reputation and assets.

You will have substantial PQE and an in-depth understanding of commercial and intellectual property law, including contract, copyright, trade marks, data protection, marketing and advertising matters. Comfortable managing relationships at all levels, you will ideally have also gained working experience in media as well as charity law and practice, preferably in an in-house role.
