Tackling global poverty through the power of entertainment is a serious business. As organisers of the two of the UK’s largest fundraising campaigns in Red Nose Day and Sport Relief we are committed to ensuring children and vulnerable adults are safe and we are pledged to protecting children and vulnerable adults in all our activities. This is where your skills come is as Head of Safeguarding.

Join us and you will ensure we are aware of potential risks and pro-active in preventing them as well as promoting the protection of children and vulnerable adults throughout our work. This will cover Comic Relief, our partners and grantees. We want you to instill the principle of Do no Harm is a priority in all we do. This will involve overseeing the implementation of our safeguarding policy and procedures, making sure they are updated and continuing to develop our monitoring framework and quality assurance programme. We want our safeguarding standards to be best in class and will look to you to liaise with local authority and regulatory bodies as required to make certain we continue meet legal and statutory requirements as well as identify areas for improvement. As safeguarding champion you will also train staff and build capacity and understanding within the organisation.

You must have solid technical and practical experience of children and vulnerable adult’s safeguarding. You will have experience of developing and implementing organisational safeguarding policies and procedures both in the UK and oversees.

As a protection programming expert you will have a strong understanding of child protection initiatives too.

You will also be effective at designing, facilitating and evaluating training in different cultural and organisational contexts. A good communicator you will have good relationship building, presentation and organizational skills. You will also be the sort of person who is passionate about excellence and delivering on commitments.
